Ian Simpson took up the bass guitar at the age of 15, thinking it would be easier than a six-string and would get him more attention from girls. He was wrong on both counts.
He played his first gig at Ilford Town Hall, aged 16, with the appropriately named ‘No Talent‘, later reviewed by a local fanzine as ‘Heavy Plastic of the very worst sort.’
Previously with 1980s psychedelic rock band the All Night Chemists, (he’s occasionally still (psycho)active with them!), and after that a stint in the legendary Bristol Garage band the Spasmodics, Ian found his spiritual home when he joined the then Brew Band way back in 1993, and still won’t go away.
